I’m Wendy Tan Shiau Wei, a freelance illustrator, storyboard artist, and live event caricaturist based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. My passion for storytelling started with my work in film and animation, where I honed my skills as a storyboard artist and visual development artist in the Malaysian animation industry.
Today, I bring stories to life through illustration, often incorporating dramatic colour and lighting to create captivating visuals. My work spans diverse industries, including character and product design for animation and toys and book illustrations for covers, picture books, and middle-grade novels.
Some of my notable projects include the Pets Rule! series, Girls Survive series, and Shakespeare Graphic Novels. I have had the privilege of collaborating with renowned clients such as Disney Hyperion, Marvel, Mattel, Scholastic, HarperCollins, Hachette, Phoenix International Publications, AirAsia, and many more.
I’m proudly represented by Astound US for publishing projects. Additionally, I offer live caricature services for events, adding a touch of creativity and fun to any occasion.
When I'm not illustrating, I enjoy reading, travelling, and spending quality time with my family and my beloved puppy, Lucky.
